      They may not be core to Disney. Yeah, there's clearly creativity and content that they create that is core to Disney, but the distribution model, the business model that forms the underpinning of that business, and that [has] delivered great profits over the years is definitely broken.

      Partially right. The diagnosis held: linear TV economics kept deteriorating. But the strategic implication did not survive a year: Disney explored, then ruled out, selling the networks, and by August 2024 Iger was calling his own 2023 comments "a mistake", pointing at FX's Emmy haul. The business-model call was right; the "not core" signal was retracted by Iger himself.
