This is inevitable because of overinvestment: More than a quarter of U.S. venture funding went to AI startups last year, and 4 in 5 American unicorns are now AI-related… We’re already seeing it in corporate PR, as the rate of AI mentions in S&P 500 earnings calls dropped from 35% to 29%. Expect that number to sink lower.

    Follow-up

    Largely accurate in spirit: the bubble did not burst, but hype normalized and weaker AI stories deflated while core infrastructure and leading platforms remained strong.
