    RECEIPT #EVAN-S

    DEC 18, 2025

    Story still evolving.

    PREDICTION BY

    Evan Shapiro
I think one of the predictions I'm making for next year is that the AI D2C bubble is gonna burst a bit. But that AI, a prediction I made for this year, was actually going to be a very unsexy success. And one of the great examples of this is AI operating behind the scenes, not right overtly out there, but just creating greater discoverability, much more personalization, and in particular, going to solve some of the biggest problems in the ecosystem.

    FOLLOW-UP

Shapiro's 2025 prediction regarding AI's 'unsexy success' in driving behind-the-scenes personalization and discoverability in streaming is supported by the Roku panel discussion, where AI-driven personalization is a key prediction for 2026 (Prediction #1). The 'AI D2C bubble burst' part of the prediction for 'next year' (2026) is still in development.

    RECEIPT #RICH-M

    APR 03, 2024

    Story still evolving.

    PREDICTION BY

    Rich Muhlstock
Like retailers, we have first-party data and a dedicated audience. But what sets us apart is the unrivaled scale and insights from our customers — having long served as a trusted guide for their financial decisions. Chase reaches across brands, merchants and shopping verticals, providing a comprehensive view of purchase behavior; this strengthens the degree of personalization, helping brands deliver offers that stoke consumer interests.

    FOLLOW-UP

The prediction describes the initial capabilities and expected benefits of Chase Media Solutions upon its launch. While the article highlights some early successes, the full extent of personalization and comprehensive view of purchase behavior are still developing and subject to ongoing implementation and market adoption. The prediction is more a statement of intent than a quantifiable forecast, making a definitive 'right' or 'partially_right' verdict difficult at this early stage without further data on its long-term impact and customer interest.

    RECEIPT #MIKE-M

    APR 28, 2026

    Too early to tell.

    PREDICTION BY

    Mike Montague
There are tools that will change your website based on the person viewing it. And it's not one version or a 100 versions. It's a custom version for each person who visits your website and it it's rewriting the text on the page as they get information about who's doing it and what they're viewing. So that technology exists and is available now. Same thing with advertising. There are AI tools and I've interviewed the people on my podcast um and I can pull up some of these names. I have them bookmarked over here later, David. But, um, they will change the ads, right, based on who's viewing it and adding additional context or rewriting stuff. And I think we're going to see um you can now make your own version of like the the Simpsons and and stuff like that of like if you don't like this episode, I think we're going to see a a Black Mirror Netflix episode where you're going to be in it or your city and like if you and I watch the same episode, we're going to see different things because everything is going to be a completely custom piece of content.

The divide between digital and linear will continue to deepen. Today there is a sharp divide between um traditional media and digital media that's going to keep um enhancing and obviously the favor is towards digital but within digital uh the winners will be those that can personalize and immediately deliver.
