    RECEIPT #ERIC-B

    JAN 01, 2024

    Partially right.

    PREDICTION BY

    Eric Brackmann
AI will change the way that shoppers find products. Tools like NLP-powered chatbots, visual search, and better recommendations will mean that in the future shoppers will be directed toward a smaller set of highly relevant products.

    FOLLOW-UP

AI tools for product discovery like chatbots and visual search gained traction. The complete shift to a 'smaller set of highly relevant products' is still ongoing amid hyper-personalization, indicating partial alignment.

    RECEIPT #ALEX-K

    DEC 23, 2024

    Missed it.

    PREDICTION BY

    Alex Kantrowitz
A Prominent Company (or Two) Will Loudly Give up on Generative AI... at least one company that’s tried and failed to get GenAI to work will vocally give up on it in a front page news story.

    FOLLOW-UP

The prediction failed, as no prominent company loudly or vocally gave up on generative AI in a front-page news story by May 2025. Instead, evidence indicates strong industry momentum through high revenue run rates and continued focus on AI productivity among leading companies.

    RECEIPT #ANTHON

    JAN 24, 2025

    Too early to tell.

    PREDICTION BY

    Anthony Ha
I assume that like basically the projections behind a project like this are basically that like it's just going to continue to hockey stick and I think that's probably the most likely outcome but I think there's also another future

    FOLLOW-UP

The prediction is about general trends in AI/generative AI demand and data center scaling, and while it mentions a 'hockey stick' outcome, it also acknowledges 'another future.' The timeframe for this general trend to definitively play out with a clear-cut 'hockey stick' or 'another future' is still developing beyond the immediate podcast date, making a conclusive verdict 'right' or 'partially_right' premature. No specific metric or timeframe is given for the hockey stick growth, making it hard to track precisely.

    RECEIPT #TOM-OL

    APR 28, 2026

    Too early to tell.

    PREDICTION BY

    Tom Ollerton
But in this instance, AI wouldn't have been able to do anything because it wouldn't have been able to look at a person uh examining the text. And I I saw a brilliant article um the other week about um is it was it um the guy from Meta who's um who's saying that the future of generative AI will all be about video because you can you can read a text that say when a glass falls off a table it will smash on the floor but actually watching that on a video tells you much more about the real world than something in print which is will be a really interesting development of AI

    FOLLOW-UP

Filed for tracking. Outcome to be evaluated as the timeline plays out.
